Dress Up your Lampshade: A Story of Our Day

Hi bloggers, yesterday was another fantastic workshop day with some stunning lampshades being created. The weather was beautiful as well and allowed us to have a little tea party at lunchtime which everyone enjoyed. Its amazing to see how everyone comes up with different and unique ideas and I think everyone added their own stamp on it. Of course I took lots and lots of photos and everyone who came will have the honour of having their work displayed on the blog. It will be a story of pictures, starting with a unique lampshade decoration I made for the garden. Enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed the story of our day in pictures and have admired the works of art by all who attended yesterday. If you are feeling jealous and would like an opportunity to make such a lampshade for your home I am considering hosting a workshop at Revive Charity Shop, so if you are definitely interested then make sure you stay tuned or pop into Revive over the next few weeks for any details.

I just love these big workshop days and I feel so inspired! A massive thank you to everyone who came, now I'm off to the craft room........

Wish List CHA Summer 2012

Yesterday I finally got the chance to have a catch up with all the latest releases from CHA with a little help from Bluemoon Scrapbooking videos. If you really want a good look at all the new goodies, I highly recommend browsing through their videos because they look over all the products in detail and the commentary is just great. I just had to check out the Tim Holtz video first to have another look at all his fantastic products and also get the feel of the booth Tim probably spent hours on. My top top favourite product of Tim's would have to be the mini lantern which comes with a battery pack so that it can light up, so cool! Definitely going to have to make another configuration box so I can hang this baby in it.

Next up is Prima Marketing and as usual they have some gorgeous collections coming out and trillions of embellishments that I want to get my hands on and use in my projects. First up are Junkyard Findings which are a pack of lightbulb embellishments with words printed on them, perfect to add to any scrapbook page or mini album. The back of the bulbs are flat, making them easy to adhere to your project and they come in several shapes with different words on, so cute!

Also, check out these cool zip pulls as well, might need to buy these as well.

My favourite collection from Prima Marketing would have to be 'Welcome to Paris' with a fantastic range of papers and embellishments. I have a certain person in mind who this collection would be perfect for as I think they will have some special memories to scrapbook from Paris.

Moving onto a Christmas collection, I would defintely have to say that My Mnds Eye has a gorgeous collection of Christmas Papers this year. Well to be honest they always have gorgeous christmas papers so nothing out of the ordinary, but take a look at a few of these.

Another yummy stash of Christmas Papers includes Tim Holtz Seasonal Resist Papers, Tim's done it again, beautiful.

For a closer look, take a look at Bluemoon Scrapbooking CHA videos.

Washi tape seems to be huge this year and most designers have released their own designs of tape which are great for scrapbooking different memories and sticking together your configuration boxes or covering up those pesky edges that need a little glamming up. Here are a few favourites:

October Afternoon also had some beautiful washi tape designs for some of their collections, however I could not find a picture of the products on their website, may need updating. I was also surprised by how much I was loving their new collections and they all have a kitch look to them. Check out Bluemoon Scrapbooking CHA video below to have a sneak peek at October Afternoon's products.

All these products will definitely be in my wish list though I have only touched the tip of the iceberg with all the fantastic new products being released. Check out my pinterest CHA board for a few more ideas of all the new products I'm loving right now.
On a different note, Dress Up your Lampshade workshop is this weekend so I am busy adding the finishing touches to everything in preparation for the big day. Lets hope the sun stays shining on Saturday for a little Tea Party come lunch time. All the pictures and news from the workshop will be posted next week so stay tuned.

New Workshops at Revive

Hi bloggers, its finally nice to see some sunny weather to brighten up the UK in preparation for the Olympics and I hope you're taking some time to enjoy the sunshine. I have designed two new workshops that will be taking place at Revive Charity Shop over the next few weeks. The first one is my Vintage Bunting Workshop which I gave you a little insight to in my last post and will allow you to make 1 metre of bunting. The second workshop is formed of two parts. It is a matchbox minibook and you will be making and decorating the matchbox in the first workshop and then the following week you can create the minibook to go inside it. These are both really cute projects and I hope you will be able to come along and have a go.
For all the details about the workshops, click here, and if you want to book a space, call Revive Charity Shop or send me an email at vintagefollie@hotmail.com

Vintage Bunting

Hi bloggers, today I have been working on a new project that I am going to make into a workshop at Revive Charity Shop, so if you're interested, stay tuned. My inspiration stemmed from a new Martha Stewart punch that we had ordered and we wanted to experiment. Previously mum had made some vintage bunting using brown paper bags, however I still wanted to maintain a bunting look to it. Using some of the tags I had designed a few weeks earlier I decided to combine the two to make this gorgeous vintage paper bunting.

The workshop will provide you with 1 metre of bunting, perfect for decorating a boring wall in a room or add some more bunting to it when you get home and make one large piece which you could use as party decorations. I also plan to make a vintage wedding bunting as well as another example of the different themes you could create. A date still needs to be arranged for the workshop but I'll make sure to keep you updated.
